The engineers at DarkSide Scientific have found a way to adapt this technique to paint, and just featured the finish on a car. Since it is a new technology, they have put it on a Tesla Model S.
According to DarkSide Scientific, this paint comes in a variety of colors and can be a applied with a simple paint gun. You just need to connect wires so you can run a current through it, and everything is then controlled through a simple computer.
