The First Dodge Challenger Hellcat Has Been Auctioned

Not only is the Dodge Challenger Hellcat the most powerful Muscle Car out there, it is also one of the cars with the best horsepower per dollar ratios. With a starting price of US $60,000, it is a relatively inexpensive way to beat cars that cost much more.

However, the very first 2015 Challenger Hellcat ever sold ended up costing a lot more: the car bearing serial #0001 was auctioned at Barret-Jackson, going for the hefty sum of $825,000. This is 14 times higher than the price that will be asked for #0002, in case you were counting.

But it is is for a good cause: all proceeds will go to the Opportunity Village foundation, which helps handicapped people living in Las Vegas.

#0001 is unique: It has been hand-painted in Stryker Red, a colour normally reserved for the Dodge Viper. It is also equipped with the eight-speed automatic transmission, and it comes with a Hemi Orange painted box loaded with pictures of the car's build, and a certificate that attests to the car's origins. The owner also received a leather iPad protector embossed with the Hellcat logo.
