A Subaru Forester STi In The Works?

The last time Subaru decided to sell a more powerful version of its Forester, the year was 2004. Fans of the brand liked the vehicle, since it gave them the power and driving dynamics they liked from their Impreza WRX STi and the ergonomics of the Forester. The Forester STi was not available here, but that didn't stop enthusiasts from modifying their own vehicles by importing Japanese engines and stuffing them in their engine bays.

The current Forester is anything but sporty: it is equipped with an automatic CVT transmission, and makes 250 horsepower at the most. However, Subaru may be working on a spiced-up version of its crossover: they just revealed a few teaser shots of the upcoming Forester STi.

While we don't have much information to go on, we can guess that the crossover will receive a modified version of its 2 litre turbocharged engine with over 300 horsepower (there would be no point in fitting the WRX STi's 2.5 litre engine under its hood). It should also receive a sportier suspension, various visual cues indicating its sporty nature, and (we hope), a manual gearbox.

The Subaru Forester STi should be revealed on November 25th, and we should know more about it then.
