Christmas Gifts Idea: Unique Miniature models

Published on December 16, 2014 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

If you have to find a gift for a gearhead, one of the items on your list will probably be a scale model. However, keep in mind that it can quickly become hard to buy a vehicle that they don’t have (especially if the whole family decides to give him the same thing!). After a few years, you run out of ‘’easy ideas’’: his first car, his favorite coupe, his father’s car, a selection of supercars…

To make sure you don’t offer him a car that he already has, we recommend selecting something that is not frequently recreated: forget the '55 Chevy and first-gen Corvette, NEO Scale Models has a large selection of Malaise-era cars. Yes, they have Porsches and Ferraris, but the interesting models are the '80 and '90s American land barges: Chevrolet Caprice, Buick Electra, Riviera and Park Avenue, Pontiac Grand Prix, Chrysler Imperial, Ford Country Squire, Pontiac Bonneville, Cadillac Deville…

And the selection is not limited to American cars: Audi 5000, Jaguar XJ Sovereign, Porsche 968, Morgan 4-4, Jaguar S-Type, Ford Fiesta MKII, Karmann Ghia, Honda Prelude… You won’t find some of these cars anywhere else on the market.

All cars are 1:43 scale, are made of resin (so they are not built for small children) and feature lots of details. They are worth around 65$ each, but you have to ship them from Europe.

Take a look at their catalogue, and tell us which one you would want as a Christmas gift!
