2015 Ford Edge: New Look, Even More Tech

Published on January 15, 2015 in Montreal by Jean-Charles Lajeunesse

The second-generation Edge is based on the Fusion global platform. It includes a new structure, new suspension and an EcoBoost-based powertrain. The entry model comes with a turbocharged 245 horsepower four-cylinder while Sport versions get the all new 2.7 litre V6 developing over 300 horsepower. The traditional normally aspirated 3.5 litre V6 is still available. All powertrain configurations, including all wheel drive versions, get the six-speed automatic with steering-column mounted paddles. Body-wise the stylists improved the aerodynamics and skillfully integrated the new Ford family face while maintaining continuity with the old design. The new chassis markedly improves the handling and noise insulation.
