Problems For The Polaris Slingshot

Things are going from bad to worse for Polaris’ three-wheeled Slingshot: after being banished from a few American states (like Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana and Maryland) since it doesn’t fit the description of a "motorcycle" which states that the occupants have to seat on a saddle (and not in a seat), it seems that some reliability problems are now preventing the sales of the trike.

Polaris sent a stop-sale order to their dealerships, stating that a defective ball bearing could cause problems in the steering rack when the user tries to turn. A letter was also sent to current owners to warn them about this defect and to ask them not to drive their vehicle until the manufacturer figures out the most efficient way of fixing the problem.
