2016 Chevrolet Equinox Unveiled In Toronto
During a presentation at the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto (and a simultaneous one in Chicago), Chevrolet unveiled the latest iteration of its Equinox crossover.
The popular vehicle is already in its second generation, which was launched in 2009. We were somewhat expecting a complete redesign of the Equinox, but we were instead treated to a restyling. The front of the vehicle was modified with the addition of a different bumper, a new, larger lower grille and fresh headlights. At the back, we can see a more modern bumper, redesigned taillights and dual exhaust for V6-equipped models.
Speaking of engines, the current selection carries over: the 4-cylinder Ecotec mill is standard, while those who need more power and towing capacity will opt for the 3.6-litre V6 and its 301 horsepower.
Inside, the seats now feature improved fabrics, the dashboard is new, and WiFi connectivity is back.
The 2016 Chevrolet Equinox will be available this autumn.
The big news for us is that the Ingersoll facility, which has built the Equinox since its launch, will receive an investment of $190,000,000 to modernize its infrastructure. This means that the vehicle will continue to be produced there for a number of years.
