Alpina Turns 50
For half a century, the Alpina brand has been offering a full array of modifications for BMW owners; where the brand’s M cars were more like road-legal racecars, the Alpinas were more comfortable, more discreet… but just as powerful.
To mark this important achievement, Alpina has launched two different models, based on the 5 and 6-Series; they feature unique badges, different custom-made seats and 1965-2015 commemorative plates. Each car will also be hand-signed by Alpina’s founder.

Whether you choose the B5 Bi-Turbo or the B6 Bi-Turbo, you get 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. This makes the Special Edition Alpina the most powerful car ever produced by the brand.
Only 50 B5 Bi-Turbos will be built (in sedan or wagon form) and 50 B6 Bi-Turbo coupes will round up production; we’re pretty sure they will sell quickly. However, since they will cost at least 117,800 euros (around $160,000), only the richest BMW aficionados will be able to get their hands on one…
