Honda Concept D: A China-Only Concept

Published on April 20, 2015 in Shanghai by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

During the Shanghai auto show, Honda surprised the crowd with a sleek-looking new crossover concept. The good news is that there is a good chance that we may see the vehicle in a dealership soon, since it will probably spawn a production model.

However, don’t expect to buy it here; it will probably only be sold in China.

The Honda Concept D features an all-new front fascia with large openings on its lower bumper, LED headlights decorated by a single, continuous line that goes through the length of the bumper and a prominent front grille. The overall style might not be for everybody, but it has the merit of being original. The vehicle also has large lateral side skirts, and the 21-inch wheels are typical for a concept car.

According to the manufacturer, the Honda Concept D will eventually inspire an all-new production vehicle focused on the Chinese market. It will act as a flagship SUV for the Honda brand and will boast a number of technological advancements. Of course, there is no launch date for this vehicle yet.
