A Unique 1970 Mustang For Sale

Published on April 28, 2015 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

To celebrate 428 day (since we are April 28th, or 4/28) we found a fairly rare vehicle: a 1970 Ford Mustang with the 428 Cobra Jet engine, a four-speed manual gearbox and the fastback roof. This is a relatively rare combination, but the various other options make it even rarer.

In 1970, 191,522 Mustangs were built. 46,576 of these came with the very beautiful fastback roof. Only 496 fastback Mustangs had the 428-4V Cobra Jet engine; about half of these (249) were fitted with a close-ratio four-speed manual gearbox. 10 of those fastbacks were painted black, and four of those ten had vinyl bucket seats. Finally, only one car came with a centre console.

You are looking at it.

The car has been professionally restored; as you can see in the pictures, it’s probably cleaner than when it came out of the factory! It also sports some interesting options, like body-coloured mirrors, front disc brakes and steel wheels covered with hub caps.

With only 18,713 miles on the odometer, this beauty will probably sell for a lot of money; as of this writing, the auction was sitting at $60,000, and the reserve had not been met.
