kartSTART Turns 5

Published on May 11, 2015 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Ever heard of kartSTART? It’s an initiative that aims to give young Canadians a better understanding of how a vehicle works. 2015 marks an important milestone, since the program celebrates its 5th edition.

More than 1,700 young drivers have benefited from kartSTART’s teachings. To help kids gain a better understanding of the forces in play when a vehicle is moving, instructors explain to them what makes a car tick: how it accelerates, brakes and turns, for example. They then get to apply this knowledge on simple vehicles: karts.

But the program isn’t only for kids. Since kartSTART is sponsored by Toyota, adults can learn too by testing the brand’s latest security features.

The class only takes half a day, and will be held at eight different locations throughout Canada: Chilliwack, Edmonton, Saskatoon, London, Toronto and Moncton; in Quebec, kartSTART will be held in St-Eustache and Trois-Rivières.

You can reserve your spot at any of the eight locations by visiting the kartSTART website.
