Pricing For McLaren's 570S and 540C

A few months ago, McLaren unveiled their new entry-level vehicles. Set to offer the same level of engineering found in the blisteringly fast P1 and the gorgeous 650S, but in a more affordable package, the Sport Series duo were introduced as competitors to the Porsche 911 Turbo. However, pricing had yet to be announced, and this information was crucial; if it wound up being too expensive, buyers would simply go somewhere else.

The cheaper of the two, the 540C, will start at $196,500. Yes, that’s more than the Porsche 911 Turbo ($172,400), but you get a mid-engine supercar with a 3.8-litre V8 generating 533 horsepower, which is 13 more than the Porsche.

As for the 570S, those of you who want to get your hands on the most powerful Sport Series model will have to sign a check for $219,750. Once again, we are over the price of a 911 Turbo S, but you are guaranteed that no one will mistake your car for a lowly Carrera… And you will enjoy having 562 horsepower on tap.
