Toyota Is Still The Most Valuable Auto Manufacturer

2015 wasn’t the best year for Toyota; after some recalls (for the explosive Takata airbags, among other things) its name lost around 2% of its value, according to customers.

However, since said value is still at $28.9 billion, Toyota is still the #1 manufacturer in terms of brand value, according to BrandZ (an annual survey to determine the top 100 most valuable brands according to customers).

As a reminder, BrandZ has been around for the last 10 years, and Toyota has topped the automotive chart for 8 of them.

BMW comes second (with $26.4 billion) and Mercedes-Benz ($21.8 billion) rounds up the top 3.

However, in the overall list, Toyota is only 30th. At the top of the chart, with a total value of $246,992 billion (or $246,992,000,000 if you prefer) sits Apple. The electronic purveyor made a spectacular climb in the last year, increasing by 67% and beating their rival Google.
