All-new Kia Soul urban crossover passenger car makes its Canadian Debut

The awaited 2010 Kia Soul urban crossover passenger car was unveiled today by Kia Canada at the Montreal International Auto Show today. Destined to appeal to a whole new group of Canadian consumers, the Soul will challenge consumers to change the way they think about Kia. Also on display in Montreal were the new Soul Hybrid, and the KOUP concept vehicles.

"The new Soul and the concept cars unveiled here today illustrate the evolution of the Kia brand", says Maria Soklis, Senior Director of Operations at Kia Canada Inc. "Our full product line-up merges great design, quality, efficiency and safety for a truly exciting and enabling experience in our vehicles."

For the Canadian market, the Kia Soul will be available with a base 1.6 litre four cylinder gasoline engine developing 122 horsepower, or a 2-litre, 142 horsepower gasoline engine. All Kia Soul 2.0 litre cars will be fitted with four wheel disc brakes, with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) as standard equipment.

Available in Canadian dealerships in February 2009, every new Soul will have many accessories to choose from, making it easy to personalize and allowing the driver to express themselves and their lifestyle. With a variety of eye catching colours, interior and wheel combinations, the new Soul offers a way to stand out in a crowd.
