Ford Taurus SHO Coming Soon?

Published on January 17, 2009 in New Models by Dan Fritter

Ford has made a pretty big deal out of the launch of the 2010 Ford Taurus, and rightfully so. Arguably the most important vehicle Ford’s launched in recent memory, the ‘80s wouldn’t have been the same without the launch of America’s favourite family sedan. But the 90s brought shame to the popular badge, as it swelled, lost ground to the imports, and became a bloated version of its former, value-packed self. And we won’t even mention the last vehicle that bore the Taurus badge...

But this new 2010 model looks to impress, with very European styling, and an impressive drivetrain lineup that will include the delicious twin-turbo “Eco-Boost” V6 producing well over 300 horsepower. As if that wasn’t enough, it appears that Ford will provide the Taurus with even more sporting credentials. With a few early production interior photos sporting a SHO badging, critics quickly leaped at the possibility of the resurrection of Ford’s Yamaha-powered sports sedan. Now, Ford’s 2010 Taurus launch site fuels even more discussion of an SHO model. With various photo galleries of the coming model, with one heading under the coming models section grabbing most of the attention: “Performance Series.”
