The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Gets Two New Special-Edition Models

General Motors will add some flair to the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado midsize pickup when it hits dealerships this fall.

The Colorado Midnight Edition gets essentially the same dark treatment as the Silverado Midnight Edition. In addition to the black paint job, the truck’s grille, bowtie emblem and 18-inch alloy wheels are also finished in black. A spray-on bedliner and a soft tonneau cover are also included, as well as sill plates adorned with the Chevrolet logo.

The Midnight Edition package will be offered on the LT grade of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, no matter what body (extended cab or crew cab), drivetrain (2WD or 4WD) or engine (2.5L four-cylinder or 3.6L V6) you choose. And when the Colorado Duramax arrives with its turbo-diesel engine, it too will be available with the Midnight Edition Package.

The Colorado Z71 Trail Boss gets the pickup’s off-road suspension setup, but with more aggressive off-road tires and trim. Included is a new sport bar with LED lighting, black-finish 17-inch alloys with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec 265/65R17 tires, fender flares and tubular side steps. As with the Midnight Edition, the Z71 Trail Boss will wear a blacked-out grille and emblem and feature a spray-on bedliner.

The Z71 Trail Boss package will obviously be available on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, no matter which body type, drivetrain and engine is specified.

Pricing for the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Midnight Edition and the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Boss will be announced later on.
