Usually when we attend BMW press events, be it for motorcycles or automobiles, we are shuttled between the airport and the hotel in a BMW vehicle. More often than not it is in a 7 Series sedan, in which we get to experience the roomy and luxurious backseat.

This week we get to take the wheel of the new BMW 7 Series, which has been redone for 2016.

The 7 Series enters its sixth generation, and BMW's flagship sedan boasts a lighter, more rigid chassis that sheds up to 86 kg compared to the outgoing model. It uses a frame that consists of steel, aluminum and carbon fibre components.

Engines include a 4.4-litre, 445 horsepower twin turbo V8, a 3.0-litre, 320 horsepower turbocharged inline six, and coming early in 2016 will be a plug-in hybrid that uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four. All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic.
