A $400,000 Range Rover?

Currently, the top-of-the-line, most luxurious and most expensive Range Rover available (apart from some unique creations, like the SVO Holland & Holland) is the Autobiography Black. This palace on wheels has enough equipment to make a limousine jealous, is unbelievably comfortable and is sold at around $150,000, which is enough to place it in a segment of its own.

It would seem that this isn't enough for some buyers, because Rolls-Royce and Bentley are currently working on ultra-luxurious SUVs with stratospheric entry prices. Since Land Rover doesn't want to be left behind in this new segment, it seems that their SVO division is currently hard at work on the ultimate Range Rover, which could be sold at up to $400,000. That would be more than the $325,000 Bentley Bentayga, and it's too early to say what the price of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan will be, but we figure it should be over $400,000, since the Phantom is sold for around that amount.

Despite that, Jaguar Land Rover's director says that it's important that the Range Rover stays true to its roots; for him, the SUV has to remain ''affordable'', which means a starting price under 100,000 pounds (or $108,490 in our market).
