New Engine For The 2016 Lexus RC

Until now, the RC lineup included only the RC 350 with a 3.5-litre V6 that features 307 horsepower, and the RC 350 AWD, which adds all-wheel drive for more traction in inclement weather. Those who want more power can get the RC F, which has 467 horsepower courtesy of a 5-litre V8 that revs up to 7,300 rpm.

For 2016, the RC doesn’t really change visually, however a new 200t version can now be ordered.

If you know your Lexuses, this name isn’t new to you; the brand recently launched the NX 200t, a small luxury SUV.

Like the NX 200t, the RC 200t will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine displacing 2 litres. This version will become the entry-model with 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Apart from that, the 2016 RC gets a new colour, Eminent White Pearl. Those who pay for the F Sport variant can also choose to get orange-painted calipers as well as a limited-slip rear differential.

Official pricing hasn’t been announced yet, however, we suspect that it will be less than the RC 350, which starts at $59,895.
