2016 Kia Optima: We're Driving It This Week

Published on October 12, 2015 in Spotlight on by Benjamin Hunting

This week The Car Guide is travelling to Aspen, Colorado to drive the all-new 2016 Kia Optima. The Optima is the brand's mid-size family sedan, and it's been given a refresh that creates a sleeker, more fastback-like look for the current model year. The Optima's chassis has been stiffened, the interior has been quieted, and engine options range from a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre four-cylinder all the way up to a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that should produce close to 250 horsepower. There's also a fuel efficiency-focused 1.6-litre turbocharged four-banger in the mix, matched with a dual-clutch automated manual transmission.

Kia has additionally upgraded the Optima's suite of technology features. These include additional active safety equipment, as well as next-generation in-car entertainment that promises better integration with Android and Apple mobile devices.

Check back next week for our full driving impressions of the 2016 Kia Optima. You can view our existing coverage of the Optima here.
