Steve Millen Pairs With Nissan for Targa Newfoundland!

Published on February 26, 2009 in News by Dan Fritter

One of the last vestiges of road-borne motorsport, our own Targa Newfoundland is an incredibly popular event. Bringing factory teams and some of the world’s most exciting driving, the public road-borne event represents everything that’s right with traditional road rallies, with competition cars rocketing through sleepy Newfoundland streets for the resident’s enjoyment. As fun as it is competitive, it’s one of the few places you can still see sports cars from the 60s and 70s competing just as they would in their heyday.

But those nostalgic racers don’t stand a chance this year. Thanks to the first teaming of Nissan and Steve Millen in 14 years, one can expect the company’s latest project to finish very high up on the leaderboard, if not at the top. Specializing in Nissan’s, Millen’s company, STILLEN, will be preparing the latest GTR for tarmac road rallying with a long list of modifications that should leave no stone unturned in their search for added performance. Swapping out whatever they can for lightweight carbon fibre components (and that includes the seats, and body panels), while juicing more power from the twin turbo motor by way of performance exhaust, intercoolers, and a serious performance tune, the STILLEN GTR should consume the cracked Newfoundland tarmac at a ridiculous pace. Already a very good handling car, STILLEN will be replacing both the suspension and brakes with secret components that will include: some form of specially developed braking system from AP Racing, as well as new dampers and adjustable sway bars. A blog will follow the build progress on STILLEN’s website, for those die hard fans.
