We Are About To Get To See The Fiat 124 Spider

Ever since we learned that Fiat was about to unveil a new version of its legendary 124 Spider, we have been eager to see it; we already know that it will use the Mazda MX-5's platform, but have its own distinct look and Italian styling.

It seems like we are about to get to see the production-ready 124 Spider: the manufacturer just announced that the car will be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show. For now, we can look at the above postcard, which shows us the silhouette of the roadster and reminds us that the car will be typically Italian.

According to rumours, a variety of engines could find their way into the car: the base-model could have a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder plucked out of the 500, while an Abarth variant could be fitted with the turbocharged 1.75 litre out of the Alfa Romeo 4C. We'll also have to wait and see if a manual version will be offered, because the 4C comes only with an automatic DCT.

We will learn more on November 19th when the car is unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show's Press Day, before it is shown for the rest of the week on the show’s floor.
