Dieselgate: Volkswagen's Employees Will Be Protected... But They Need To Be Honest
One of the most impressive aspects of the whole Volkswagen diesel engine debacle is that nobody seemed to know about it. How could something this important go unnoticed for so long without anyone realizing it?
This is what the manufacturer would like to know. In an effort to shed some light on the situation, Volkswagen has unveiled a service that allows its employees to talk anonymously with the internal investigators who have been tasked with coming up with answers.

The employees who choose to talk will be protected against dismissal and any damage claims. However, they have to act fast: They only have until November 30th. After that, anyone who has something to hide will face some serious consequences.
This practice was popularized by GM; during the Pontiac G5/Chevrolet Cobalt ignition switch scandal, an anonymous phone line was set up so that employees could share information without risking their jobs.
