Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept: While We Wait For The Production Version

Published on November 19, 2015 in Los Angeles by Sylvain Raymond

After unveiling the Impreza 5-Door Concept at the last Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru strikes again in Los Angeles with the Impreza Sedan Concept. A four-door sedan that not only presents the design future of the brand, but also offers a glimpse of what the next-generation Impreza might look like.

Subaru likes to gauge public reaction by presenting concept cars just before the production model arrives. That’s exactly what they did two years ago with the Legacy. The good news is that the two Impreza concepts are quite beautiful and we can only hope that the production versions keep their alluring shape.

The Impreza Sedan Concept’s style is much less about angles, but sportier and more refined. The car is even more attractive with its red paint and contrasting black trim. Up front, the concept boasts a hexagonal grille and hawk eyes, while its rear end looks equally as good, although we would’ve preferred dual exhaust tips instead of a single one. The most interesting element is the design of the 19-inch alloy wheels.

Obviously, the car will include an all-wheel drivetrain, but there are no available details regarding the rest of the powertrain. This new platform should also serve to underpin several future models.

The next Impreza will be offered in sedan and five-door body styles. The production version, which will most likely be unveiled at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show, should be on sale late in 2016 and tagged as a 2017 model.
