A Yuccie Design For The Scion C-HR Concept

According to the very credible source called Google, hipsters are dead. They’ve been replaced with a cross between yuppies and hipsters, and they’re called yuccies, which stands for young urban creatives.

If you don’t know what a yuccie is, or you’re dying to find out if you are a yuccie, you can certainly do some research on the Internet, but take a couple of headache pills beforehand. Whoever they are, whatever they do and however they think, Scion thinks they’ll fall in love with the C-HR Concept.

It’s a five-door crossover with a dynamic, sporty design, which gives the impression that the Nissan Juke needed competition. Scion calls it an urban lifestyle vehicle, and yuccies should be attracted to it because they supposedly like designs that aren’t boring. Well, who doesn’t?

It’s true that the Scion C-HR Concept’s bodywork is anything but bland. The car crossover thing boasts a flattened shape, accentuated by gigantic 21-inch wheels and a tiny greenhouse. The shiny red paint is enhanced by a myriad of graphite black trim pieces, while the boomerang-shaped taillights are detached from the C-HR’s rear end.

The automaker says the Scion C-HR Concept was built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture, or TNGA. The platform is said to increase body rigidity, enhance handling and improve ride comfort. As far as technical details go, that’s all we know for now.

Scion has announced that a production version of the C-HR Concept will debut next year. However, will yuccies still be around by then?
