Cadillac Is Cooking Up Some New SUVs

During the Los Angeles Auto Show, more than one manufacturer was showcasing SUVs. We know that this type of vehicle is particularly popular right now, and everyone is trying to adapt the recipe to as many segments as they can.

Among luxury brands, Cadillac is currently on a good stretch. In an effort to get some additional customers, it’s possible that the brand has more than one new SUV up its sleeve.

Some rumours state that as early as next year, a compact SUV bearing the American brand’s shield may be coming. If we are to trust Cadillac’s new nomenclature, it could be named XT4.

This newcomer would be targeting the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the BMW X3. After this new vehicle is launched, Cadillac wants to keep on building SUVs: a subcompact crossover going after the Infiniti QX30 and the Audi Q3 could be in the cards, as well as an intermediate SUV that would slot in between the XT5 and the Cadillac Escalade (which won’t lose its iconic name, thankfully). Logically, this would be a three-row vehicle.

This would bring the number of crossovers in Cadillac’s lineup to four before 2020… which is quite an effort, since they only have a few short years to catch up in this lucrative segment.
