2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0: Only 150 Units For Canada

The 2016 edition of the Scion FR-S sports car went on sale last summer with a new standard rearview camera and other minor changes. However, the FR-S Release Series 2.0 will be a little different from the well-equipped base version.

The FR-S RS 2.0 features a two-tone interior with heated black Alcantara and leather seats as well as camel-coloured accenting spread around the cabin. A front spoiler lip, a body-colour trunk spoiler, an intelligent key with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, high intensity discharge headlights and LED daytime running lights are also included, while the car’s exclusive paint colour is called Lunar Storm. A unique set of 17-inch alloy wheels round out the package.

The 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 with a six-speed manual transmission is offered in Canada for $32,800 before freight and delivery charges – or $5,310 more than a base FR-S. Buyers can also choose a six-speed automatic transmission with wheel-mounted paddle shifters for an extra $1,180.

Only 1,000 units of the FR-S Release Series 2.0 will be built, and of that number, 150 copies are earmarked for the Canadian market.
