The 2016 Jeep Cherokee Gets Luxurious: Meet The Overland

The Jeep Cherokee received accolades over the years, but it also got some negative comments over the fact that its most sought-after version -the Trailhawk- is an off-road variant and feature less amenities than the Limited.

Jeep just announced a new, more luxurious version of the Cherokee; during the New England Auto Show, the automaker launched the Cherokee Overland, which will now sit at the top of the range.

The interior receive Nappa leather for the seats as well as a unique wood-ingrained steering. The front seats are heated and ventilated, thicker floor mats are provided, GPS comes standard and the Uconnect system is now fitted with Alpine speakers. Safety-wise, the Cherokee Overland receives a set of back-up sensor as well as blind spot monitoring.

So how do you know you have an Overland in front of you? Easy: it's the only Cherokee with a monotone paintjob. No plastic cladding for this model! The vehicle also feature xenon headlights and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.

Since the Overland was launched in the US, we don't have Canadian pricing. However, since it will be sold for $8,000 more than the American Trailhawk -$36,695-  we can expect that the Overland will sell for around $41,695 here.
