The Ferrari California T: For Folks Who Love to Drive

Published on January 26, 2016 in Geneva by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

The Ferrari California T may be pretty and offer lively acceleration, but it’s not exactly a sports car. It’s more of a grand tourer, designed for folks who want to savour the road, not devour it.

But since the prancing horse brand is looking to cast a wider net by appealing to as many customers as possible, they’re coming out with a package that will seriously boost the California T’s dynamic driving capabilities.

The Handling Speciale package and exactly how its components are arranged will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

California T units equipped with this package will be easy to spot thanks to a matte grey grille (or as Ferrari calls it, “grigio ferro met”), black exhaust tips and unique interior badging.

From a handling perspective, these vehicles will feature new springs and tweaked damper settings for a stiffer ride.

Meanwhile, the vehicle’s transmission computer will be reprogrammed for faster shifting when the gear selector is set to Sport mode.

Finally, the California T Handling Speciale will release its own unique sound thanks to a reworked exhaust. According to Ferrari, this change won’t just generate extra volume during acceleration, it will also improve response times for the mechanical components.
