Sale Stop And Recall For The Mazda CX-5
Even though the Mazda CX-5 is appreciated by both owners and automotive journalists, the SUV isn’t exempt from mechanical woes. In its most recent recall, the manufacturer just announced that it will have to repair the vehicle.
On all CX-5s built between 2014 and 2016, the tube between the fuel filler and the tank could rupture if the vehicle is struck from behind. This would cause a leak, which could in turn potentially set the car on fire.
Mazda became aware of the problem during testing; there has been no accidents or casualties reported from this defect.
Around 48,000 vehicles are affected in Canada.
While the engineers are hard at work trying to find a solution to the problem, Mazda decided to suspend sales of the CX-5.
If you own one of these SUVs, the manufacturer will send you a letter in the coming weeks to make an appointment and change the defective part.
