A New Host for Top Gear UK

Ever since we learned that Top Gear UK’s hosts would have a new show on Amazon Prime, rumours were flying around about who would replace them at the BBC.

We already knew that Chris Evans would helm the show, but nothing was official for the co-hosts. We heard names like Sabine Schmitz – a professional racing driver that was once part of the Top Gear Germany team – or Chris Harris, who gained recognition thanks to his YouTube videos.

The production team confirmed that the second host would be Matt LeBlanc, an American actor that starred in the television sitcom Friends.

This is the first time one of Top Gear UK's hosts won’t be from England.

The 48 year-old actor loves speed: he frequently races his motocross and collects Porsches. He made his mark a few years ago in Top Gear by beating the lap record in the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car event, in which celebrities have to lap around a track as fast as possible in a modestly powered car.
