Honda Civic and Mazda CX-3 Win AJAC Canadian Car of the Year Awards

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada announced the winners of their 2016 Canadian Car of the Year Awards program.

The 2016 Honda Civic has been named the Canadian Car of the Year with a score of 798.9 points out of 1000 (or 80%), beating out finalists Volkswagen Golf R (78.5%) and Volkswagen Golf Sportwagon (75.9%).

The 2016 Mazda CX-3 has been crowned the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year with a score of 769 points out of 1000 (or 77%), besting finalists Volvo XC90 (76%) and Kia Sorento (75,2%).

AJAC also announced the finalists for their Canadian Green Car of the Year awards, and the winners will be announced at the Vancouver Auto Show on March 23. Finalists include the Honda Civic Sedan, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and the Chevrolet Volt for the Canadian Green Car of the Year award as well as the Mazda CX-3, the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Electric and the Honda HR-V for the Canadian Green Utility Vehicle of the Year title.
