Lexus LC 500h: The Hybrid Super-Coupe Hits Geneva

Published on February 15, 2016 in Geneva by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

A few weeks ago, Lexus unveiled its new vehicle, the LC 500 coupe. Fine-tuned by Akio Toyoda himself, the car has the mandate of giving Lexus a halo car that could convince buyers to check out the Japanese automaker's offering instead of going to BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

In an effort to attract as much people as possible, Lexus will bring a hybrid version of the LC at the Geneva Auto Show.

We don’t know exactly what will sit under the LC 500h's hood – the manufacturer announced a new version of its hybrid system, but that doesn't tell us a lot. However, we can reasonably expect that the 5.0-litre V8 will be replaced by something more fuel-efficient. We bet that Lexus GS 450h's 3.5-litre V6 and electric motor combo could be used here.

More information will be given at the Geneva Auto Show on March 1st.
