Here is the 2017 Nissan Titan

Recently, the new Titan XD garnered much of the attention in Nissan's truck lineup. However, according to the manufacturer, it doesn't have any direct competitors; it's a little more capable than a light-duty pickup (like the Ram 1500 or the Ford F-150), but it can't quite compete with heavy-duty trucks like the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and the Ford F-250. It's something of a middle-ground, a ''2000'' if you will.

Nissan just announced the half-ton 2017 Titan, which will try and steal sales from the Ram 1500, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the Ford F-150 and the Toyota Tundra.

Three cab sizes are available: Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab. You can then choose between three bed sizes : 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet long.

While the Titan is visually similar to the Titan XD, both trucks sits on different chassis. According to Nissan, the vehicles don't share a single platform part; even the lug nuts are different!

Two engines will be offered: a yet-unnamed V6, which we assume will be either Nissan's 3.5L or 3.7L units, and the manufacturer's 5.6-litre Endurance V8 engine. This mill's 390 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque will be useful for towing.

We don't yet know just how much said truck can tow, or how much fuel it will guzzle. We will have to wait until the official launch, sometime during the summer of 2016, to know more.
