BMW iPerformance: Another E-Nnovation for Geneva

In BMW’s booth at the Geneva Motor Show, right next to the gorgeous M760Li xDrive, there was a second version of the sleek sedan.

Painted silver, this car is a complete opposite of its V12-powered sibling; instead of ultimate performance, the objective here is ultimate economy.

This is the BMW 740Le xDrive, first of the new iPerformance sub-brand. Eventually, every plug-in hybrid from BMW will be part of this lineup.

Visually, this 740 will be distinguishable by its BMW i logos, blue accents in its front grilles and wheels as well as eDrive logos on the C pillar.

The engine of choice is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder associated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to an electric motor in said transmission, this powertrain develops 310 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque.
