The Scion FR-S is Reborn; Say Hi to the Toyota 86
When Toyota announced the death of Scion, we were told that the three most important models of the sub-brand–the iM, the FR-S and the upcoming C-HR–would be saved; the other two–tC and xB–would be dumped.
We now see the new face of this awesome RWD coupe: here is the 2017 Toyota 86.

While the overall shape is instantly recognisable, there are a few changes: apart from the new identity, the 86 gets LED headlights with new turn signals as well as a bumper with small fixated winglets (known as canards). The wheels are new, as are the modernized taillights.
In an effort to answer the demands of pretty much every single human being who ever drove the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/ Toyota GT86, the manufacturer added more power to the 2.0-litre Boxer engine; it now develops 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque (yes, that’s a 5-horsepower gain).
Toyota chose the name 86 because it's one used in various markets throughout the world, like in Japan and Australia. However, it is known as the GT86 in Europe.
