An Upscale Volkswagen SUV Concept for Beijing
With the Beijing Auto Show drawing closer, various manufacturers are publishing teaser images of concept vehicles. Today, it’s Volkswagen’s turn to try and drum up interest for an upcoming upscale SUV.
Volkswagen confirms that this vehicle will be their most advanced SUV ever. They haven’t announced if this will become a production model, but it stands to reason that it may dictate what their future vehicles will look like.

The concept will have a hybrid powertrain that can be recharged via a wall outlet. This Volkswagen will have a driving range of 50 km on all-electric mode, 376 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in around six seconds, which is pretty respectable.
The headlights are C-shaped and full of LEDs; the turn signals have a new style and the rear lights are shaped like triangles. This is pretty futuristic.
There haven’t been any pictures of the interior, but we know Volkswagen will fit it with its Active Info Display system. For the occupants, the concept will adopt a Lounge layout and take into account the latest digital technological developments.
The Beijing Auto Show starts on April 25, 2016.
