Updates For The 2017 Lexus IS

At the upcoming Beijing Auto Show, Lexus will show an updated version of its IS sedan.

We don’t expect a major revision of the vehicle; after all, the latest generation hit the market in 2013, and a new engine was added last year: a 2.0-litre turbocharged powerplant which replaced the 2.5-litre V6.

It’s possible that the IS might receive some stylistic updates like a different front bumper, new headlights similar to those of the RC and the GS as well as a different grille.

We can also guess that new wheels will be offered, and the rear of the IS might receive new taillights and different details on the bumper.

Inside, we expect some updates like the latest generation of Lexus’ infotainment system, new driving aids and a few gadgets… this is the standard procedure for a facelift.

Chances are the engine choices won’t change: the base IS 200t will still feature a turbocharged four-cylinder developing 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The IS 300 features a 3.5-litre V6 producing 255 horsepower, and the IS 350 pushes that same mill to 306 horsepower.

We still have to wait until April 25 to see the 2017 Lexus IS.
