The Car Guide is on its way to China to cover the 2016 Auto China show. This year, the event is held in Beijing, alternating between the capital during even years and the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai during uneven years.

China has become the number one global market for many automakers, and all the major brands will be attending. Several of them will be unveiling world premieres or models specifically tailored for the Chinese market.

We’re expecting Audi to present the new TT RS, which should be equipped with an all-new turbocharged five-cylinder engine that boasts an aluminum block, and whose output should be rated at around 400 horsepower. At Volkswagen, we can count on the introduction of a new hybrid SUV concept, while the 718 Cayman should draw some attention at the Porsche booth.

Also at the Beijing Auto Show, Mazda will launch its new CX-4, derived from the Koeru Concept that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in October 2015. At Lexus, they’ll be debuting a refreshed version of their compact IS, while the Infiniti brand will showcase their new QX Sport Inspiration concept. The Beijing Auto Show might also be the stage for the unveiling of a high-calibre exoticar, the LaFerrari Spider…

So, there will be plenty of action at the Auto China 2016 show, and we’ll be serving up all the info on these premieres. Stay tuned.
