Mazda CX-4: Stylish, But Not for Us...

This probably won’t come as a surprise, but SUVs are a sure bet. You just need to check out sales numbers to see just how easily this segment gained traction in the last few years.

However, these vehicles’ styling isn’t for everyone. Those who want something different get one of those new coupe-styled vehicles that recently came out, like the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, the BMW X4… or the new Mazda CX-4, which was recently unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show.

Based on the Koeru concept unveiled last year, this newcomer is a stylish version of the Mazda CX-5. The bodywork is unique, but the engine choices are the same: a 2.0-litre four is used on base versions, while a 2.5-litre unit sits under the hood of the top-of-the-line versions.

There is just a little problem with this vehicle. Right now, it is only offered in China, where it will be built. If you want one, might we recommend sending a letter to Mazda? Sadly, there is a major obstacle to this CUV’s coming onto our shores: it could steal sales from the CX-5…
