Honda Ridgeline, Take Two

Published on May 2, 2016 in Spotlight on by Marc-André Gauthier

We’re off to San Antonio, Texas, to test drive the new 2017 Honda Ridgeline.

Unveiled earlier this year, the 2017 Ridgeline is taking a different marketing approach that breaks from the traditional pickup sales pitch.

When an automaker launches a new pickup, they usually play the muscle and macho cards. Honda is dropping the clichés by offering exceptional handling, a refined interior and some practical and out-of-the-ordinary accessories, like an underfloor cargo bed trunk.

From a styling standpoint, the new Ridgeline looks a lot more like a pickup truck than the previous generation.

But the Ridgeline has its work cut out for it, as it tries to edge in on the Toyota Tacoma, GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado—especially when you consider that it only comes with a 3.5-litre V6 for the time being.

Check back for a full review later this week on The Car Guide.
