Tesla's Bioweapon Defense Put to the Test

To prove that their Bioweapon Defense system is more than a marketing scheme, Tesla decided to put it to the test.

The automaker placed its Model X in a plastic bubble full of polluted air, 83 times more than what the EPA considers "good-quality air". Tesla says that you could literally survive a biological military attack in your vehicle, since the system completely sanitizes the vehicle’s interior.

Once the Bioweapon Defense is turned on, the filtration system also cleans up to 40% of the exterior air. The manufacturer says that their measuring instruments can’t detect a single pollution particulate after the system has been activated.

The HEPA filters are powerful enough to make a Model X—and now the Model S—sanitize the area around the vehicle in less than two minutes.
During the test, Tesla didn’t mention what exactly was in that air bubble… And nobody wanted to walk inside to check.
