Two Million Hyundai Vehicles Sold in Canada

Published on May 6, 2016 in News by Samuel Labrie-Ross

Hyundai just sold its 2,000,000th vehicle in Canada. The lucky customer was a resident of Val-Bélair, Québec, who bought a 2016 Tuscon.
This comes after another important landmark, as last month, the manufacturer sold its 500,000th Elantra in our country. Worldwide, Hyundai has sold more than 100,000,000 vehicles so far.

The Korean automaker started peddling cars here in 1983. They sold their millionth Canadian vehicle in 2007. They quickly doubled this number thanks to a quick growth in sales. Nearly half a million Hyundais were sold between 2011 and 2015. The brand’s three most popular models are the Accent, the Elantra and the Santa Fe.

Hyundai wants to stand out

The manufacturer will soon get rid of the blue and white colours of their dealerships, trading them for shades of bronze. The idea is to stand out from their rivals.

In the next few months, Hyundai will also launch their luxury brand, called Genesis. The full-size G90 sedan will be the first of six cars in their lineup, which should all arrive by 2021.
