Chevrolet Silverado High Desert: Useful?

Published on May 13, 2016 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

At face value, this seems like a good idea: in the above picture, you can see the Chevrolet Silverado High Desert, a new version of the full-size pickup that will be sold next fall. Instead of an open box, this truck features a cargo management system that includes two sealable trunks and a divider for smaller stuff. This box also comes with roll bars reminiscent of the late Chevrolet Avalanche.

If you don't need to move large stuff, this option might actually be useful. However, the idea of a truck with less cargo space might seem ridiculous... Unless you use your pickup truck to tow?

Available on the LT and higher trim levels, the High Desert package includes 20-inch wheels; if you choose the LTZ or High Country, you get 22-inch wheels.

Speaking of the High Country, this version now comes with the company's Magnetic Suspension, which soaks up bumps in an impressive manner.
