Whenever a manufacturer launches a new model, it has to spend a lot of time in testing to make sure every single components dreamed up by the engineers in their sterile labs can hold up to the rigorous conditions of the real world.

Porsche wants to make sure its Panamera will keep on being successful. As its second generation will soon be revealed, the Stuttgart manufacturer wanted brought a fleet of prototypes to South Africa for hot-weather testing.

Fitted with an impressive array of sensors, the vehicles will go through a variety of road conditions and environments. From the city of Cape Town to gravel-covered mountain roads, the sedans will be closely monitored to iron out every single defect and analyse the collected data.

According to the manufacturer, the 2017 Panamera will be all-new: from its platform and engines to its interior, not one component will be shared with the outgoing model.

The vehicles will then receive the finishing touches according to the test results. The production Panamera should be officially revealed to the world within the next few months.
