Renault Twingo GT: The Quick Little City Car
Usually, if I showcase a car that isn't sold here, it is either a high-performance supercar, a track toy with limited availability or a station wagon with a ridiculously powerful engine. However, I'm making an exception here: the little orange car that you see in the above pictures is the Renault Twingo GT, a sportier version of the French city car unveiled last year.
On paper, this seems like a lively little vehicle. It comes with a 0.9-litre engine producing 110 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. This doesn't seem like much, but remember that the Twingo is a rear-engined, RWD car. A sporty suspension and recalibrated steering will give it a little more handling.
The only available transmission is a manual, and its ratios has been optimized to help it extract the maximum out of the available torque.
If you ever go to Europe, keep an eye out for Twingos with 17-inch wheels and twin exhaust tips. That's how you will spot a GT. And if you ever see one of those little cars, it will probably be weaving around traffic.
