Yet Another Recall for the Porsche 918 Spyder

Published on July 16, 2016 in Recalls by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

The Porsche 918 Spyder has been recalled on several occasions since its launch. It never had any major problems, but the German manufacturer preferred not to take any chances and contacted every single owner of the supercar, asking them to bring them in for repairs. The first recall was about a rear axle problem, while the second had something to do with the wiring near the intercooler.

A third recall has hit the German car, but it is nothing to fear: according to Porsche, there was an error in the catalog part number for the screws holding the belt tensioner. This means that if your 918 was repaired at some point, the bolts used to retight the belt might not be the good ones.

Porsche will still take the time to talk to all 918 owners and schedule an inspection of their vehicle. In the meantime, we hope they get a nice 911 as a courtesy car.
