Watch a Hennessey Mustang hit 335 km/h

Published on June 9, 2015 in News by Brad Diamond

The folks at Hennessey Performance know a thing or two about making cars go fast—just look at the world record-holding Venom GT and its blistering 435 km/h run for proof.

So when they set out to make the 2015 Ford Mustang stupid fast, we didn't doubt they could get it there in a hurry.

Enter the Hennessey Mustang.

(Technically it's the HPE750 Supercharged Mustang for those keeping score at home.)

With 774 horsepower and 648 lb.-ft. cranked out of the 5.0-litre V8, the Hennessey Mustang is good for a claimed run from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 10.9 seconds.

The supercharger is a whopping 2.9 litres—that's half a litre larger than the one strapped to the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat's 6.2-litre HEMI—and the engine is outfitted with an upgraded fuel system, but otherwise components are stock.

If you're looking to upstage your neighbour's Hellcat you better act soon: The Hennessey Mustang is limited to 500 units for the 2015 model year.
