The first 2016 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty pickup has rolled off the assembly line at Fiat Chrysler's Saltillo assembly plant in Mexico, bringing with it a trio of best-in-class claims, including torque, with an astonishing 900 lb.-ft.

Powered by a 6.7-litre Cummins turbodiesel inline-six, the Ram 3500 now makes 900 lb.-ft. of torque, a 35-lb.-ft. improvement over the 2015 model year.

That's good enough for a best-in-class rating, dethroning its predecessor, to go along with a claimed best-in-class towing capacity of 30,000 lbs. (that jumps to 31,210 lbs. for two-wheel drive single cab models), and a best-in-class payload of 7,390 lbs.
