GMC introduces 2016 Sierra All Terrain X to truck lineup
GMC is adding its own off-road-inspired half-ton pickup with the 2016 Sierra All Terrain X, a truck that adds more than just an appearance package to its list of extra goodies.
Built as what can only be assumed to be a response to the Ram 1500 Rebel, the Sierra All Terrain X is only available as a four-wheel drive Sierra SLT crew cab model, and takes the Sierra All Terrain to the next level—both aesthetically and athletically.
Like the Sierra All Terrain, the All Terrain X features the Z71 Off-Road suspension package with Rancho monotube shocks, an Eaton locking rear differential and a transfer case skid plate, and adds Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/65R18 mud-terrain tires and a "performance exhaust system" that bumps the output of the 5.3-litre V8 to 365 horsepower.
Also new are the black wheels, side steps and bed-mounted sport bar, LED headlights and body-colour exterior accents.
The truck is set to go on sale this spring.
Pricing has not been announced.
Here's to hoping GMC gives the same treatment to its smaller Canyon pickup in the near future.
